Purchasing return or PO return hangs when attempting to post or show an error

On the Dynamics GP Support and Services blog, Angela Ebensteiner wrote about an issue the team recently identified to reduce the time it will take you to solve it if you happen to come across it. She explained that when posting returns in batches from purchase order processing, the system just hangs. She stated that the reports print out and, in some cases, everything appears to process alright.

However, Ebensteiner wrote that after the reports print, the system just hangs, but there isn't any type of error message indicating what's causing the problem. She stated that the reason for this really isn't easy to find in the logs, as the general ledger, inventory, and purchase order tables all look to have updated. 

In her blog post, Ebensteiner noted that the only issue the team could find is that the POP worktables don’t clear and one field in the POP10500 doesn't update. After some testing, Ebensteiner wrote that the team ultimately identified the cause of the problem and offered a solution.
