In a
NAV User Group webinar, a recent adopter of MicrosoftDynamics NAV 5.0 shared her
company's relief at the comprehensive and rapid tracking abilities of NAV
5.0.
"My company upgraded to NAV 5.0 for item tracking," said the
user who's company had previously used NAV 3.6. "NAV 5.0 tracks
every order that comes in, from a purchase order to a return, to sending
a fax to a vendor, to inventory. It tracks everything right there within
minutes."
This glowing first-hand review seems to coincide with Microsoft's claims
that NAV 5.0 will "enhance speed and efficiency in performing
everyday tasks" through improved automation and tracking of
mission-critical events, such as potential item shortages, production
processes, and cash flow issues. In addition to having Convergence 2007
and 2008 sessions dedicated to the application's enhanced item tracking,
Microsoft's

What's new in Dynamics NAV 5.0?" marketing page specifically
calls out the ability of NAV 5.0 to "simplify item tracking by
searching and analyzing on lot and serial numbers more easily." The
company also cites the product's ability to better implement and track
prepayments, standardize integration with item tracking, and trace costs
and data.

has been running NAV 4.0 for two years, commented that NAV 4.0 has been
